Drug use has become so prevalent that the DEA, in its latest survey, found that 43% of Americans reported having used an illegal substance in the last year.

If you’re thinking, “That’s a lot of drugs.” then you’re right. But the fact that drug use is still so rampant is also a good indication that we need to do something about it. For starters, we need to stop using drugs and start using the money left over to stop them.

This is one of the biggest problems with the War on Drugs. We spend a good portion of the taxpayers’ money on the War on Drugs but then, after spending all that money, we end up with a drug problem. We spend money on drugs because we want to, but after we spend it we end up with a drug problem. It’s time to stop wasting money on drugs and start wasting it on education, prevention, and treatment programs.

Drug use has become a major problem in the US. In the last 20 years, the number of people in prison has increased by over 80%. In just the last 12 months, the number of deaths from drug overdose has increased by over a hundred thousand. Drugs were responsible for over a hundred thousand deaths in 2010. We need to stop using drugs and start using the money left over to stop them.
